Artist Statement & Bio

My greatest artistic passion is the interpretation of the female form.

Through my art, I strive to express the soul and beauty of women.

My creative emphasis is on emotion and artistic form rather than the visual details that define flesh and blood.

Love, lust, passion, elation, self-confidence and doubt are among the emotions that serve as inspirations.

Although my sculptural figures are abstracted forms, their beauty, grace, and sensuality are ever present.

I draw, paint, print, and create sculptural forms as well as functional ceramics,

I am originally from upstate New York and have studied art in Pennsylvania, New York, Italy, and Hawaii.

I have taught art in New York and Japan, and am the chairperson of the Fine Arts Department at a public high school in Florida.

I owe much to the influences of Henry Moore.

I also have derived artistic inspiration from other artists that I admire, such as Georgia O’Keeffe, Henri Matisse, and Pablo Picasso.
